STEP 1

With the ignition switched off and the parking brake set, disconnect the negative battery cable on the driver’s side.

IMPORTANT: Failure to disconnect the battery for a minimum of 2 hours may cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate upon completion of the installation or subsequent operation. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!

STEP 2

Loosen the hose clamp at the stock intake box and resonator then remove the intake tube from the vehicle.

STEP 3

Loosen the two screws on the resonator assembly using a 10mm socket. Disconnect the temperature sensor wiring harness from the sensor.

STEP 4

Remove the stock throttle body gasket.

STEP 5

2004-08 Models: Disconnect the breather hose from the intake box lid.

2003 Models: Remove the breather hose from the intake box lid and oil fill reservoir.

STEP 6

Carefully lift the stock intake box out of the four pins from the intake box tray. Remove the two screws securing the intake box tray to the frame using a 13mm socket. Set one screw aside, they will be reused in Step 14.

STEP 7

Remove the screws securing the wheel liner using an 8mm Wrench/Socket.

STEP 8

From inside the engine compartment, carefully pull the wiring harness clip out of the wheel liner. Then set the wheel liner aside.

STEP 9

Using a 13mm socket, remove the other 2 screws securing the intake box tray inside the wheel well.

STEP 10

Insert the supplied Grommet (D) into the Airbox (M).

STEP 11

Determine if you want to install the Snorkel Plug (T) onto the Snorkel Tube (S) or leave it open. See the “Air Box Plug Testing” note on Page 3 for more information. If the Box Plug is desired, install 1/4-20 Screws (V), Split Lock Washers (U) and 1/4” Flat Washers (W).

STEP 12

Note: If your vehicle is equipped with 4x4, install the Rubber Cap (AA) over the screw on top of the passenger side shock tower to prevent the screw from rubbing on the Airbox (M) while driving.

STEP 13

Carefully place the Air Box (M) and the Snorkel Tube (S) into the vehicle as shown below. Keep the parts detached from each other. Gently push the hoses aside if necessary.

STEP 14

Use the stock screw removed in Step 6 to secure the Airbox (M) to the frame. Leave the screw loose.

STEP 15

Secure the bottom of the Airbox (M) From inside the wheel well, install the M8 Screw (K) and Flat Washer (L). Then fully tighten both screws mounting the airbox to the frame.

STEP 16

Install the 1/4-20 Screws (V), Split Lock Washers (U) and 1/4” Flat Washers (W) to secure the Snorkel Tube (S) onto the Airbox (M).

Remove the protective covering and secure the Clear Lid onto the Air Box (M) with the 1/4-20 Truss Screws (P & Q) and Washers (O). Do not over tighten.

STEP 21

Note the stock temperature sensor orientation then carefully turn it counterclockwise and pull it out of the stock resonator. Remove the O-ring from the sensor.

STEP 22

Insert the supplied Grommet (D) into the Intake Tube (E) and carefully push the temperature sensor into Intake Tube (E) using a twisting motion. Be sure to match the stock orientation.

STEP 23

Install the Hump Coupler (G) with two #72 Hose Clamps (F) onto the Intake Tube (E). Stop when the coupler reaches the stop bead.
